The day trip from Coromandel to Hot Water Beach started with a very long mountain drive. By far the steepest that we had to master so far.
Since the front wheel was now intact again, the downhill was also really fun again.
Due to two more steep passages we allowed ourselves a, with 1.5h relatively long lunch break. Afterwards another hill followed before Whitianga. There we bought again our 1kg breakfast ration of yogurt for the next day.
At the tourist office Rana got the hint that we had to be fit for the following 20km to our planned campground... after the three hills it was a nice walk. Oh yes, before we could leave Whitianga, we had to cross by ferry. The ferryman was slightly surprised by our load. So we had to pay an extra 50 cents for the trailer, when we had already paid 50 cents for our tandem. But since we took up about space for 4 bikes, this price was ok :-)
