Due to unfavorable campground distances we drove today only 40km and had so still enough time in the afternoon once again to wash and swim in the sea.
It is generally known that in New Zealand shorts and sandals pass as semi-formal clothing. Here, however, we still made the discovery that here also rubber boots almost belong to formal wear. In the last days we saw despite very hot weather many young and old Kiwi's with rubber boots, which are worn for cycling, for the exit, so for every occasion. So we also saw several times signs in front of restaurants that one should take off dirty rubber boots but please outside.
As mentioned in a previous blog article, the Kiwi's take their entire household with them when camping. We have now discovered a packing list in our campground directory. The prioritization of the packing list is very interesting. Already in second place is the BBQ grill. Likewise, tables and benches, as well as fishing equipment are prominently represented.
