On Wednesday afternoon, about 20km before Greymouth, a cement truck with trailer overtook us at first with distance, then to avoid an oncoming car, he changed back to our lane too quickly. We were pushed out of the lane by the trailer and fell to the ground.

With suspected back injuries we were flown to the hospital of Greymouth. However, no injuries other than the obvious scrapes and bruises were found there.

We are now waiting in Greymouth for the police to finish their work. Afterwards we plan to take the train to Christchurch to have the only slightly damaged tandem repaired. Further we will have to plan our further journey there anew, since we cannot and do not want to ride a tandem in the next days.
