On the third day we continued on the highway to the campsite at the next lodge.
In the morning we ate breakfast at the Clearwater Mountain Lodge. A little after the departure we saw the first cyclists on the highway. But these were without luggage and with escort vehicle on the way. A little later we also met a couple with luggage. The road was partly better, but had some loose gravel, which forced us to drive slowly.
At a stop on the way we noticed that we had already lost a first screw on the trailer and probably a little later our gas bottle and pump would have been lost as well.
On the way we tried to determine the upcoming elevation profiles directly on the Navi. Unfortunately, the ones with our maps were not rudimentarily accurate. However, the ones planned in advance were correct.
After 67km we reached the Maclaren River Lodge, where we pitched our tent at the Maclaren River. To avoid experiments with our broken gasoline bottle, we ate dinner at the lodge. For the $10 camping fee, even the unlimited hot shower was included. Besides that, there was also a beautiful view of mountains and glaciers from our spot on the river.
