Another beautiful day through the forest in the north of Vancouver Island.
In the morning the tour started with the steep way back to the highway. After warming up with this climb, we were able to enjoy a beautiful day. Despite sunshine, it was mostly shady and cool in the forest all day.
In the small settlement of Woss we strengthened ourselves in the only restaurant with burger, coke & ice cream.
Towards the end of the day we reached a "pass" after enjoying a nice long, but not too steep, descent: With a gradient of 2-4% we could ride several kilometers between 40km/h and over 60km/h.
Shortly before the Eve River we made a short stop at a beautiful, probably freshly renovated "Rest-Area", which just invited to camp (the prohibition signs spoke against it).
About two kilometers further on we turned off the highway onto the Eve Main Road (logging road) and after another two kilometers we reached the planned campground. This site consisted of an area for a maximum of four tents and an outhouse. Anything else one might lack was made up for by the uniquely secluded location on the creek!
When hanging up our food as bear-proof as possible, rope and branches did not exactly behave cooperatively, but somehow everything was then once in the tree...
