Once in Jasper, we got to know Canada a bit and took a cable car ride up the town's excursion mountain.
After assembling the tandem, we drove to the nearby national park campground. That here some is somewhat different than in Europe, we noticed at the latest when we noticed that it has in front of the (only) shower building a Parklplatz. The parking lot is not for outsiders, but really for campers of the place! To be fair, it should be noted here that later in Lake Louise we also went by tandem to the shower, because the approximately 800m were too far for us.
On the way back to the village we tried to find out some traffic rules, which are apparently different here than in Europe :-) In addition, we had to wait for an unusually long time at the railroad crossing, because a freight train with 3 locomotives and 185 cars just left the station (that takes time...).
The following day we picked up our gasoline stove at the bus stop and drove after shopping to the valley station of the cable car...but this was not really in the valley, but 250hm further up.
On the mountain we met the first chipmunks and took photos of the village and the valley towards Sunwapta Pass while planning the route.
