When planning, we considered for a long time whether we wanted to visit the national park ourselves with the tandem or a guided tour. Since the park road is a gravel road, for which we would have needed about three days, we decided to get to know the park comfortably.
In the morning we were picked up at 7 o'clock by a tour bus at the hotel. This was an old school bus, with the "practical" sliding windows typical for the USA.
After the obligatory safety briefing and information on how to behave towards the wildlife (be quiet, don't screech), the tour into the park started.
On the way, the driver explained all sorts of things about the national park, the history and the animals. As soon as he or a participant saw an animal, it was immediately stopped. Then we had the opportunity to take pictures. If animals were a little further away, the driver filmed them so we could see them on screens inside the bus. Thus the tour was not boring despite the 5 hours duration. We were still glad, on the advice of the travel agency, not to have booked a longer tour (up to 13h).
