Very short day stage back to "civilization".
After the long previous day, we now had only 27km to Tok. Since we were able to cover this distance with a slight downhill and tailwind, we reached our daily destination after only 1h12. So we had an average speed of almost 23km/h. This is much more than the usual 14-16km/h (or 10-11km/h on the Denali Highway).
In the early afternoon we pitched our tent on a really big campground with 168 sites and did our laundry. Since clotheslines are forbidden according to campground rules, we camouflaged ours with our tarp. :-)
Afterwards we went to eat at "Fast Eddy's". This restaurant is known for its big "all you can eat" salad bar. But for now we enjoyed wonderful burgers there. We were less enthusiastic about the iced tea (cold black tea).
During the subsequent visit to an outdoor/weapons store, we heard an exciting statement during a conversation between a salesman and a customer: "Bear spray is useful against bears. But I would never rely on it. I rely on my 42 Magnum".
