Foggy cold day with moose.
In the state park, as well as on the roads, we were made aware of the moose by many signs. In contrast to the "wild" north in Alaska and Canada, we now had the pleasure of seeing many moose here in southern California! Apparently you don't have to go all the way to Alaska to see wildlife!
On the hilly and winding road, which was partly again no freeway, but only a narrow two-lane road without shoulder, showed especially the truck drivers from their best side and overtook considerately. Unfortunately, this does not seem to work with all car and RV drivers.
On the way we had once again a construction site with traffic lights. Since this was on an incline, we did not have enough time (although we pressed the button for cyclists at the traffic light) to pass the one-lane stretch without oncoming traffic. In order to pass the stretch without oncoming traffic, you have to go at least 10 miles per hour.
Since the foggy cold weather did not motivate us very much and all reachable campgrounds had a streaky reputation according to our research, we decided to spend the night on a private campground at noon after only 46km. Since also Sigrid and Kevin did not drive further, we could share the costs of the campground, which was expensive compared to the state parks. So we enjoyed a quiet afternoon on the beautiful in the Redwoods situated campground.
